Catalytic computing and register programs beyond log depth

Known simulations can be used to simulate $\mathsf{SAC^2}$ using free space $O(\log^2 n)$ and polynomial catalytic space. Using register programs, we show how to simulate $\mathsf{SAC^2}$ using free space $O(\frac{\log^2 n}{\log\log n})$ and quasi-polynomial catalytic space.
